New Florida Wind Mitigation Form
The new Florida Wind Mitigation form is now in effect, but how many inspectors actually know about the update? How many insurance carriers do? How many agents?

Based on direct conversations with five carrier reps, it is fair to say awareness still seems low. When asked how their companies planned to implement the changes, the response was basically, “There is an update to the wind mitigation?” They said they would check with underwriting and get back to me, but I never heard back.
With how fragmented the industry is, I am sure that small inspectors will still be using the old form for maybe a year or two... My insurance agent contact says that he stills see old 4 points still being issued to this day.
At this point, it seems likely the real impact of these changes may take a while to show up.
